ETA Management and appointment scheduling both aim to reduce dock congestion and improve throughput, but they serve different operational roles. Appointment scheduling defines planned arrival windows agreed with carriers ahead of time; ETA Management tracks and predicts when those arrivals will actually occur and updates operations in real time. Good warehouse performance depends on synchronizing both: appointments set expectations, ETAs provide reality checks.
