For high-value or export shipments, conduct ISTA protocols or consult a packaging lab. Track damage rates per SKU to identify weak points—if a single SKU shows higher returns, evaluate insert redesign or box size.

- Packing Station Setup: Standardize a packing bill of materials and work instructions at each station; keep materials within arm’s reach to prevent rushed shortcuts.

- Insurance And Claims: Document carton weight, photo evidence for damaged items, and retain packaging samples for claims with carriers.
- Carrier Selection: Choose carriers with good handling records and, for cross-border shipping, confirm liability terms for fragile items and any required additional packaging standards.

A small beauty brand sends 6 oz glass jars in batches of 6. The fulfillment team uses a 12 x 9 x 6 double-wall box, corrugated partition trays, a foam cap disk, single-wrap bubble film, and crumpled kraft as void fill.
