Step 1 — Define Objectives And Scope

Scope determines whether a dedicated pack line is required or a flexible station integrated into existing packing areas suffices.


Step 2 — Design The Workcell And Materials Flow


Efficient layout minimizes touchpoints. Typical elements:

  • Reserve Inventory Location: A dedicated sample staging area in the WMS and physically separated to prevent accidental sales picks.
  • Pre-Kit Staging: FIFO or FEFO racks for portioned items or single-serve sachets.
