Agree label format with customers and carriers before the first shipment. The 3PL should publish inbound label requirements as part of its onboarding packet and include a sample label. When an ASN is received, the SSCC on the label should match the ASN’s SSCC list so the WMS can route the pallet to the correct SKU bay or hold for QA. If mismatches occur, have a documented escalation and quarantine process.

Prevent these by publishing clear label specifications, performing periodic supplier audits, and rejecting shipments that fail to meet label minimums.
