When A TMS Is The Better Option
If you need enterprise-wide routing optimization, carrier procurement, freight audit, and automated tendering across many lanes, a TMS is essential. - APIs/EDI: Ensure your portal supports EDI or APIs so the TMS can push carrier and ETAs and the WMS can pull confirmed arrival data.
- Master Data: Keep a single master list of suppliers, carrier SCACs, and PO references to avoid mapping errors during integration.
