Retailers often pilot MFCs in 2–3 neighborhoods to validate unit economics before wider rollout. Use conservative estimates for order capture uplift and plan for flexible usage of space (pop-ups, shared dark-store operations) to offset downtime. Negotiate service-level agreements with automation vendors that include uptime guarantees and defined mean-time-to-repair.
