Best practice labeling reduces exceptions at the dock, decreases manual touches and minimizes chargebacks. Retailers and 3PL operators commonly enforce tight label templates: correct GTINs, ASN‑tied SSCC pallet labels, consistent placement and minimum barcode grade. Suppliers can meet those requirements reliably with standard processes and the right technology.

  • Pre‑Ship Photos Or Audit Reports: Some retailers accept photos or supplier audit reports as proof of compliance before booking freight.

  • Wrong GTIN: A GTIN meant for a retail pack used on a master carton causes inventory for individual units to be miscounted.
