If most pallets are small and aisles narrow, short-fork jacks reduce handling time and risk. If your operation deals primarily with standard 48" pallets and mixed pallet sizes, standard jacks or a mixed fleet (both short and standard) will be more flexible.


Practical Example


A pharmaceutical distributor operating in cleanrooms switched to 28" short-fork electric pallet jacks for inventory staging on smaller trays. The shorter forks prevented contamination risk from overhanging forks touching cleanroom walls and allowed operators to move trays between sterilization stations more quickly.
