Holiday Demand Forecast is a projection of expected sales, orders, inventory needs, and fulfillment activity during defined holiday shopping periods. It combines historical seasonality, promotion schedules, inventory policy, supplier lead times, and market signals to estimate the volume and timing of demand spikes so retailers, warehouses, and carriers can plan capacity, stock, and labor.


Holiday forecasting typically focuses on discrete windows — for many U.S. retailers this includes Black Friday, Cyber Week, the pre-Christmas shopping surge, and post-holiday returns — and it must translate demand into operational requirements: inbound receipts, pick-and-pack rates, shipping capacity, and safety stock levels.
