Subscription billing or order management systems create orders according to customer entitlements, then hand them to a release mechanism.   • Inventory Mismatch: Forecasting misses produce backorders; tie release logic to real-time inventory or promise-based availability.
  • Data Quality: Incomplete subscription/export files cause rejects; enforce required-field validation at generation.

Imagine a merchant with 10,000 monthly subscribers and two regional warehouses. If every subscriber’s order releases on the same day, one warehouse could receive 5,000 orders in 24 hours—overwhelming pick capacity and delaying shipments. A better approach: the subscription platform groups releases into seven daily waves per region based on ZIP code buckets, the OMS applies split-shipment avoidance rules, and the WMS creates wave-picks aligned to crew shifts and carrier cutoffs.
