R.E. Garrison, a prominent Alabama-based trucking and logistics firm, has integrated Qued Inc.'s AI-powered load appointment scheduling software. This move marks a significant advancement in automating one of the trucking industry's most labor-intensive tasks – scheduling appointments with shippers and receivers.

    Revolutionizing Appointment Scheduling

Founded in 1959, R.E. Garrison is an employee-owned carrier that operates a fleet of 800 drivers, specializing in both refrigerated and dry-van goods. By adopting Qued’s innovative software, Garrison aims to eliminate the manual processes traditionally involved in securing load appointments, thus enhancing customer satisfaction and reducing operational costs.

Lauren Meneau, Director of Customer Service at Garrison, highlighted the importance of this technological upgrade: “Qued has developed an elegant solution for an operating task that's been stubbornly resistant to automation – how we reach out to customers and secure appointments to pick up and deliver loads.”

    Significant Time and Cost Savings

Previously, Garrison’s operations team relied on phone calls, emails, and multiple portal logins to manage load appointments, a process that took an average of six minutes per load. Given the company handles tens of thousands of shipments monthly, this manual workload was substantial. Qued’s AI tools have cut this time to less than a minute, providing over 99% accuracy in scheduling.

Meneau estimates that the software has saved approximately 60 staff hours within the first two months of implementation. Additionally, Qued’s seamless integration with McLeod Software, Garrison’s core transportation management system, facilitated a rapid deployment, going live in less than 30 days.

    Positive Feedback from Customers

Garrison’s customers, who often manage their scheduling manually, have responded positively to Qued’s platform. Meneau noted, “Now they have a scheduling program where as soon as an order is ready in their system, they can set it to fire off to us automatically, then Qued does the rest.”

    Industry Leadership and Future Growth

Prasad Gollapalli, CEO of Qued, praised Garrison’s forward-thinking approach: “R.E. Garrison continues to lead the industry by innovating and adopting technology that streamlines internal workflows while improving the customer experience.”

Tom Curee, President of Qued, also expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are seeing a steady influx of carriers joining the platform; we welcome R.E. Garrison as the latest to reap the benefits of Qued’s AI-driven automated load scheduling.”
