Strategic Agreement to Advance Green Logistics
CATL, a global leader in energy storage solutions, and DHL Group, the world’s leading logistics provider, have signed a strategic agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in logistics parks. This collaboration underscores both companies’ commitment to advancing sustainable logistics worldwide.
The agreement focuses on deploying CATL’s advanced liquid cooling energy storage systems and energy management platforms across DHL’s logistics facilities. By integrating battery swapping and superfast charging systems, these technologies aim to optimize energy structures and maximize green energy usage, aligning with DHL’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
Innovating Sustainable Solutions
Beyond energy storage, CATL and DHL will explore electric vehicle (EV) innovations, battery recycling, and end-of-life management. Supported by DHL’s global EV Centers of Excellence, the partnership seeks to revolutionize auto-mobility and logistics sustainability.
"By combining DHL’s logistics expertise with CATL’s green technology, we aim to deliver trailblazing sustainable solutions to the industry," said Libin Tan, Co-President of Sales and Marketing at CATL.
Oscar de Bok, CEO of DHL Supply Chain, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership showcases innovative teamwork, propelling us toward our shared sustainability goals.”
Strengthening a Shared Vision
This agreement builds on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed last year, outlining collaboration on carbon-neutral facilities and fleet electrification. DHL has also been named CATL’s preferred logistics provider, leveraging its EV Centers of Excellence to facilitate integrated logistics solutions globally.
This partnership marks a significant step in creating greener logistics operations, contributing to a more sustainable future for the industry.
