DP World has announced the opening of its new multi-customer warehouse in Miami, strengthening its logistics and supply chain capabilities in the region. Situated in Doral, the facility is designed to enhance third-party logistics (3PL) services and streamline freight forwarding for industries including retail, e-commerce, medical devices, and dry food and beverage.

    Expanding 3PL Capabilities in Miami

The 107,939-square-foot facility is structured as a multi-customer shared space, providing services such as inbound and outbound handling, storage, transloading, and specialized freight forwarding. This flexible model allows businesses to scale their operations based on fluctuating market demands. DP World anticipates employing up to 40 full-time employees, depending on customer needs.

Glen Clark, CEO of DP World U.S./Mexico, emphasized the strategic advantage of Miami’s location, stating:

“Miami’s prime location near major airports, ports, and road infrastructure reinforces its role as a key gateway to Latin America. The opening of this state-of-the-art facility underlines DP World’s commitment to offering tailored supply chain solutions for our customers. By centralizing freight forwarding and warehousing operations in one strategic site, we’re enabling businesses to optimize throughput, reduce transit times, and increase overall efficiency.”

    Secure and Efficient Freight Processing

Located just miles from Miami International Airport, the warehouse will operate as a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF), ensuring that air cargo is screened before transport. The facility will feature 24/7 surveillance, screening checkpoints, and TSA-certified employees to enhance security and compliance.

DP World’s new warehouse will support a broad range of services, including:

    • Ocean container and rail trailer transloading

    • Airfreight pallet and ULD handling

    • Onsite repacking, overpacking, and crating

    • Short-term storage options (standard, bulk, and cool storage)

    • Cargo weighing, dimensioning, labeling, and sorting

Future enhancements will include hazardous goods handling certification and customs-bonded operations, further expanding DP World’s service offerings.

    Boosting Trade with Latin America

A key advantage of the facility is its ability to stage shipments awaiting final commercial paperwork for Latin American-bound freight. By temporarily housing these goods, businesses can free up fulfillment center space, accelerate order processing, and improve visibility into their supply chains.

Terry Donohoe, Senior Vice President, Freight Forwarding, DP World Americas, highlighted the efficiency benefits, stating:

“This new warehouse in Miami is a game-changer for businesses needing efficient cross-docking solutions for Latin American destinations. From handling domestic shipments awaiting paperwork to finalizing international consignments, we’re streamlining a key bottleneck and boosting productivity in our customers’ wider distribution networks.”

    Strengthening DP World's Logistics Network

The launch of the Miami warehouse aligns with DP World’s broader expansion efforts across the Americas, reinforcing its commitment to end-to-end supply chain solutions. With 14 ports and terminals and over 40 warehouses in the region, the company continues to enhance logistics efficiency for businesses worldwide.
