GXO’s latest achievement comes from its collaboration with Agility Robotics, focusing on the humanoid robot 'Digit.' The project was tested at the SPANX facility in Flowery Branch, Georgia, where Digit was trained to perform repetitive tasks. These tasks included transferring totes from autonomous mobile robots to conveyors, which not only enhanced operational efficiency but also reduced the physical burden on human workers.
Adrian Stoch, Chief Automation Officer at GXO, emphasized the strategic importance of this initiative. By prioritizing the humanoid category within their R&D agenda, GXO aims to leverage the broad applications of this technology to drive new efficiencies in labor-intensive parts of the supply chain.
