HTL Freight Acquires CTS Logistics
HTL Freight, a growing leader in the third-party logistics (3PL) sector, has announced the acquisition of CTS Logistics, a full-service managed transportation company (4PL) based in Windham, NH. This marks HTL Freight’s fourth major acquisition since 2021 and further strengthens its position as a top provider of freight solutions across North America.
CTS Logistics Joins the HTL Freight Family
Founded in 1989 by Donald Leclair, CTS Logistics has built a reputation for excellence in managed transportation and brokerage services. The company’s family-oriented approach, maintained by Leclair’s children—Alan, Keith, Brian, and Kim Garneau—has been a cornerstone of its success over the past 35 years. Alan Leclair, President of CTS Logistics, shared his thoughts on the acquisition, saying, “Our decision to partner with HTL Freight was driven by their dedication to upholding the values that have defined CTS Logistics. HTL Freight’s leadership shares our commitment to integrity and service, making them the ideal partner to carry forward our family’s legacy.”
New Leadership and Expanded Capabilities
As part of the acquisition, Keith Leclair has been appointed Vice-President of Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) at HTL Freight. His extensive industry experience will be pivotal in expanding HTL’s LTL capabilities, enhancing service offerings for customers.
Finalized in February 2024, the acquisition has led to a collaborative integration of operations, systems, and cultures between the two companies. This seamless transition has preserved CTS Logistics’ strengths while enhancing the combined service offerings to benefit customers.
Founder Donald Leclair expressed confidence in the acquisition’s outcome, stating, “The collaboration between our teams over the past few months has confirmed that HTL Freight is the right partner to continue serving our clients with the level of care and dedication they’ve come to expect.”
Enhancing Freight Solutions Across North America
With the acquisition of CTS Logistics, HTL Freight has further expanded its geographic footprint and service capabilities. This strategic move strengthens its position in both the 3PL and 4PL sectors, providing customers with enhanced transportation solutions, including increased brokerage capabilities and managed transportation services. HTL Freight’s state-of-the-art technology platform will support these expanded offerings, delivering greater efficiency and cost savings.
Onu Okebie, CEO of HTL Freight, expressed excitement about the acquisition’s potential, stating, “We are thrilled about the growth opportunities this acquisition brings to both our customers and our organization. The addition of CTS Logistics strengthens our ability to provide comprehensive, technology-driven solutions that enhance efficiency and deliver cost savings to our shipper partners.”
Looking Ahead
HTL Freight’s acquisition of CTS Logistics marks a significant milestone in its growth journey, as the company continues to establish itself as a major player in the logistics industry. With a focus on innovation and customer-centric service, HTL Freight is well-positioned to deliver exceptional freight solutions across North America.
