GEODIS, a global logistics leader, has reached an impressive milestone by surpassing 10 million units picked using Locus Robotics’ cutting-edge warehouse automation technology at its Carlisle, Pennsylvania, distribution center. The collaboration between the two companies has demonstrated the transformative power of AI-driven automation in enhancing productivity, operational efficiency, and workplace ergonomics.
Rick Faulk, CEO of Locus Robotics, highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating, "GEODIS is setting new standards for speed and efficiency within its facilities. The Locus solution not only increases productivity but also improves workplace ergonomics and safety, making tasks easier for employees."
A Trusted Partnership Since 2018
The Carlisle facility, a 575,000-square-foot distribution center, fulfills omnichannel consumer orders across the Midwest and Eastern United States for a major global consumer electronics company. GEODIS and Locus Robotics have collaborated since 2018, achieving over 100 million units picked globally.
Kevin Stock, Executive Vice President of Engineering at GEODIS in Americas, emphasized the importance of automation, especially during peak holiday seasons. "Warehouse automation brings incredible value in managing increased volumes, helping us maintain a productive supply chain during demanding times," he said.
Scaling Automation Across Global Operations
In 2022, GEODIS and Locus Robotics expanded their partnership, signing an agreement to deploy 1,000 LocusBots across GEODIS’ worldwide locations—one of the industry's largest autonomous mobile robot deals.
