RJW Logistics Expands with 1M Square Foot Warehouse in Joliet, IL

RJW Logistics Group, Inc., a leading provider of retail logistics solutions for consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies, has announced the acquisition of a new 1 million-square-foot facility in Joliet, IL. This marks the company’s largest facility to date and its second location in Joliet, expanding RJW’s total logistics footprint to over 8 million square feet across 15 warehouses.

RJW Secures Long-Term Lease for State-of-the-Art Distribution Center

RJW Logistics has signed a long-term lease with CenterPoint Properties for a 976,954-square-foot distribution center at 2903 Schweitzer Road in Joliet, IL. The facility, developed by CenterPoint in 2023, has been widely regarded as a best-in-class industrial space due to its strategic location and high functionality.

“We were confident in the functionality, location, and aesthetics of this building,” said Brian McKiernan, CenterPoint’s senior vice president of development for the Central Region. “We set a high bar and challenged our team as well as our construction and brokerage partners, and they exceeded expectations on the CenterPoint Intermodal Center’s (CIC) flagship development and lease-up.”

The property offers immediate access to major transportation routes, including the newly constructed Houbolt Road Extension bridge over the Des Plaines River, as well as Interstates 80 & 55. Additionally, its proximity to the Union Pacific and BNSF intermodal facilities enhances RJW’s ability to streamline freight movement.

A Key Milestone in RJW’s Growth Strategy

The new facility is expected to hold 130,000 pallets and ship more than 15 million cases annually, serving 300 CPG customers. The expansion will also bring 325 new jobs to the Joliet area, reinforcing RJW’s commitment to scalable, efficient retail logistics.

Sustainability and Operational Efficiency at the Forefront

RJW continues to invest in sustainable logistics operations. In 2024, the company’s Retail Consolidation Program eliminated an average of 34 LTL shipments per consolidated shipment, significantly reducing transportation emissions. RJW also recycles over 1,800 tons annually and operates a modern, fuel-efficient fleet.

The company’s LEED-certified warehouse and data center, powered by green energy, contribute to its overall sustainability efforts, with an estimated 718 kg reduction in carbon output per month.
