Stord Achieves cGMP Certification
Stord, a prominent player in high-volume fulfillment services and supply chain technology, has announced that six of its first-party fulfillment centers have exceeded the stringent requirements for Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). This accomplishment underscores Stord's dedication to maintaining the highest standards of consumer care.
Commitment to Quality and Safety
Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) are critical regulatory standards designed to ensure quality manufacturing and handling across various industries, including food and beverage, nutritional supplements, health and beauty, and pharmaceuticals. These standards mandate strong quality management systems, robust operating procedures, precise lot and batch tracking, comprehensive quality control, and strict facility cleanliness.
To achieve compliance, Stord's facilities underwent rigorous independent audits, reviewing all documentation, policies, and procedures. The audits focused on real-world scenarios, such as recall events, to assess Stord's ability to manage product safety effectively. The company's proprietary warehouse management system, Stord One Warehouse, demonstrated its capability to track every lot and order, ensuring clear communication with all affected parties.
High Standards and Certification
The audits included thorough inspections of the interior and exterior grounds of Stord's facilities in Atlanta, GA; North Haven, CT; Reno, NV; and Las Vegas, NV. These inspections covered pest control logs, temperature and humidity records, and employee training protocols. Special attention was given to the prevention of cross-contamination, with all cleaning supplies and active chemicals evaluated for compliance.
Stord's facilities achieved an impressive A+ rating, with a 96-99% conformity score, well above the "good" standard of 90%. Chaz Green, Head of Operational Excellence at Stord, emphasized that GMP certification is more than a mere accolade; it is a vital standard for brands aiming to protect their customers.
A Strategic Milestone
"This certification exemplifies Stord’s commitment to the highest standards of consumer care and our continued investment in creating a seamless end-to-end commerce enablement platform for brands looking to grow sustainably and safely," said Sean Henry, CEO and co-founder of Stord. "Brands can take comfort that their products are properly handled while also reducing operational expenses through parcel and packaging innovations."
These certifications follow Stord's recent strategic moves, including the acquisition of Pitney Bowes' E-commerce Fulfillment business and center in Hebron, the acquisition of ProPack Logistics, and the company's expansion into Europe. These developments further enhance Stord's position as a leader in the fulfillment and supply chain technology sector.
