Stord Bolsters Global Fulfillment Reach with Acquisition of Shipwire from CEVA Logistics
Stord, a leading commerce-enablement and fulfillment technology company, has completed its acquisition of Shipwire, formerly a subsidiary of CEVA Logistics, marking a major step in expanding its global logistics network and technological capabilities. The deal, which closed on January 1, adds Shipwire’s fulfillment operations and proprietary systems to Stord’s rapidly growing platform.
The acquisition expands Stord’s footprint with 12 additional locations and a stronger presence in the EU and UK, while preserving access to CEVA’s extensive global warehouse network. Together, these enhancements deepen Stord’s operational scale and broaden service offerings for brands shipping around the world.
Technology Integration and AI Expansion
In addition to physical infrastructure, Stord also acquired Shipwire’s technology division, including its AI-enabled logistics platform already integrated with more than 200 e-commerce carts, marketplaces, and ERP systems. This technology is now being folded into Stord’s existing order management system (OMS), accelerating product development and strengthening its AI-driven software suite.
The expanded tech stack supports not only OMS, but also warehouse management systems (WMS), estimated delivery dates (EDD), and broader supply chain orchestration — fuelling Stord’s vision to lead in intelligent fulfillment solutions.
Strategic Growth and Industry Impact
Founded in 2006, Shipwire has long served high-growth e-commerce brands with professional fulfillment, global shipping, and technology-driven logistics services. Over the years, the business was acquired by Ingram Micro in 2011 and later integrated into CEVA Logistics as part of its Commerce & Lifecycle Services division.
Shipwire’s leadership underscored the strategic alignment with Stord. “Joining forces with Stord is a decisive move that accelerates our logistics technology and intelligent supply chain vision,” said Shipwire CEO Marcelo Wesseler.
Stord’s CEO and co-founder Sean Henry described the acquisition as pivotal for helping brands “deliver unparalleled consumer experiences on every order, every time, anywhere in the world,” and highlighted that the combined capabilities will position Stord as a dominant AI-driven player in fulfillment technology.
Continued Expansion and Recent Milestones
This acquisition continues a series of strategic expansions by Stord, following the integration of Fulfillment Works, ProPack, Pitney Bowes E-Commerce Fulfillment, and Ware2Go from UPS into its network. These moves have solidified Stord’s position among the largest fulfillment providers in both network scale and technology development.
Stord enters 2026 on the heels of record performance during the Black Friday-Cyber Monday shopping period and ambitious investments in new facilities and staffing, including a major fulfillment center expansion in Kentucky that is expected to create hundreds of jobs.
While financial terms of the Shipwire acquisition were not disclosed, the deal underscores Stord’s commitment to increasing automation, global reach, and AI-powered logistics innovation for emerging and enterprise brands alike.
