  • Racklify Warehouse of the Week (Inaugural Winner): Stord

Kicking off our Warehouse of the Week series, Racklify is proud to recognize Stord as the inaugural winner of this industry accolade. Headquartered in Atlanta and founded in 2015, Stord has rapidly emerged as a standout third-party logistics (3PL) provider that exemplifies operational excellence, innovation, and a merchant-first approach. In the past month alone, Stord grabbed headlines with a major funding round and a high-profile acquisition – moves that solidify its reputation as a tech-forward logistics leader. Below, we break down how Stord meets and exceeds each award criterion, from newsmaking growth to fulfillment performance and alignment with Racklify’s core values.

    Recent News & Expansion

Stord has dominated the logistics news cycle recently with its bold expansion efforts. In May 2025, the company announced it raised over $200 million in Series E financing at a $1.5 billion valuation. The equity round was led by Strike Capital and supplemented by a growth debt facility from SVB (First Citizens Bank) and ORIX USA. Notably, new investors like Baillie Gifford and NewView Capital joined, alongside existing backers such as Kleiner Perkins and Franklin Templeton. This influx of capital comes on the heels of record growth – Stord scaled its contracted revenue tenfold since 2021 and achieved sustained profitability in 2024.

Just days after the funding news, Stord revealed another blockbuster development: the acquisition of Ware2Go, a fulfillment network subsidiary of UPS. Announced May 19, 2025, this deal adds 21 new fulfillment centers (totaling 2.5 million sq. ft.) to Stord’s network and deepens a strategic partnership with UPS. With the Ware2Go acquisition, Stord’s footprint now spans 32+ facilities and becomes one of the largest fulfillment networks in North America by volume and reach. The new facilities bolster Stord’s existing 11 owned locations and extensive partner network, enabling faster expansion into key markets to meet surging e-commerce demand. This move follows Stord’s earlier M&A activity (such as acquiring ProPack Logistics and Pitney Bowes’s e-commerce division in 2024) as part of an aggressive growth strategy. Together, the fresh funding and UPS-backed acquisition underscore Stord’s explosive momentum – exactly the kind of newsworthy investment and expansion activity that Racklify’s award spotlights.

    Operational Excellence

Stord has built a reputation for operational excellence by delivering fast, reliable, and scalable fulfillment through a unique blend of cutting-edge software and a nationwide warehouse network. The company operates a hybrid fulfillment model that combines its own strategic hubs with vetted partner warehouses, all unified under Stord’s cloud-based platform. Today Stord serves as a one-stop logistics shop for merchants, managing everything from online checkout to inventory to last-mile delivery within a single integrated system. Its platform includes a full suite of Warehouse Management, Order Management, and transportation software, giving customers full visibility and control over their supply chain with one integration. By leveraging this tech-forward approach, Stord eliminates the fragmentation of traditional 3PL solutions – brands no longer need to juggle multiple warehouses or carriers, as Stord provides “one network, one platform, and one partner” for end-to-end logistics.

The results speak for themselves. Hundreds of direct-to-consumer (DTC) and B2B brands trust Stord with their fulfillment operations, including well-known names like AG1 (Athletic Greens), Native, Tula, American Giant, and Legion Athletics. Stord’s network handled over 30 million packages in 2024, reaching about 11.5% of all U.S. households – a testament to its scalability and reach. Even during peak season, Stord excelled: it powered nearly 1% of all U.S. e-commerce sales over Black Friday/Cyber Monday in 2024. The company emphasizes speed and accuracy in fulfillment, enabling 99% of U.S. households to be reached in two days or less via its network. According to CEO Sean Henry, today’s e-commerce consumers expect “rapid delivery, perfect order accuracy, easy returns, and more,” and Stord’s operations are engineered to meet those standards. For example, Stord’s systemwide optimizations have cut average transit times by over a full day for clients while maintaining high accuracy.

Crucially, Stord’s in-house technology drives cost savings and efficiency for its customers. Its parcel optimization and carrier orchestration tools saved client brands approximately $130 million in shipping fees in 2024 alone. By positioning inventory optimally across its warehouses and using data-driven order routing, Stord helps merchants reduce last-mile distance and costs. Customer testimonials speak to this operational excellence: Elysium Health, for instance, reported that after switching to Stord, their customers started receiving products two days faster, on average — without any added cost. Other clients have seen transformative gains as well. The oral care brand quip avoided millions in potential parcel delay costs and streamlined both its B2B retail and DTC e-commerce operations by consolidating fulfillment through Stord. Likewise, Alen Corp. (a HEPA air purifier maker) shrank its order prep time from 5 days to 1 day, unlocking free two-day shipping for its customers.

Furthermore, Stord distinguishes itself through versatility in solutions. Its network and systems are designed to handle omnichannel logistics – from small-parcel DTC shipments to bulk B2B orders – under one roof. With the Ware2Go acquisition, Stord gained additional expertise in Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) and retail drop-shipping compliance, on top of its robust DTC capabilities. Stord also maintains high operational standards across its facilities (including cGMP-certified centers for regulated products), underscoring a commitment to best-in-class execution.
