  • Tegene Robots Launches 3D Sorter Series for Warehouse and Parcel Operations

Beijing Tegene Robots has launched a new 3D Sorter product line designed for warehouse, parcel and third-party logistics operations handling everything from standard ecommerce parcels to difficult-to-convey items and high-volume sorting environments.

The new series includes four configurations aimed at different warehouse and parcel-processing requirements, with published mechanical throughput reaching as high as 40,000 parcels per hour.

Tegene says the systems are designed for parcel and express logistics providers, cross-border ecommerce operators, distribution centers and 3PLs, with configurations tailored around parcel characteristics, throughput requirements, destination count, available space and existing warehouse systems.

    Four Sorter Configurations

The 3D Sorter series includes four main configurations.

The standard 3D Sorter is designed for general parcel handling and multi-destination sorting and supports published mechanical throughput of up to 24,500 parcels per hour with as many as 1,000 chutes.

The 3D Sorter M is built for higher-volume and multi-level operations and can process up to 40,000 parcels per hour.

The 3D Sorter E is designed for non-conveyable items, flat parcels, envelopes and more complex destination-based sorting flows.

Tegene says the system can reach throughput of up to 31,000 parcels per hour and support as many as 1,500 chutes.

The 3D Sorter X is designed around modular chute expansion, allowing operators to add sorting destinations as requirements change.

Actual system capacity depends on factors including parcel dimensions, weight, packaging, destination count, facility layout, induction method and system integrations.

Designed to Complement Existing Sorting Systems

Tegene positions the 3D Sorter E in particular as a complement to conventional cross-belt sorting systems rather than a direct replacement.

Its multi-cart vertical architecture and three-dimensional chute layout are designed to handle parcels that can be difficult to process through traditional conveyor-based systems.

In suitable applications, Tegene says the system can reduce the need for parcel recirculation, manual transfers and intermediate buffering between sorting stages.

That could make the technology particularly relevant for ecommerce and parcel operations handling a wider range of packaging types and product dimensions.

Built for 3PL, Ecommerce and Parcel Networks

Tegene is targeting the new series at parcel carriers, ecommerce fulfillment operators, distribution centers and third-party logistics providers.

The company provides services covering facility and workflow assessment, equipment configuration, system integration, delivery, commissioning and ongoing operational support.

Tegene says its systems are already being used across ecommerce, express delivery, distribution and overseas warehouse operations.

The company supports projects in China, the United States, Europe and other Asian markets through regional teams and partners.

Its global support network includes remote diagnostics, spare-parts support and coordination of local technical resources for overseas warehouse, cross-border fulfillment and parcel-sorting projects.

Automation Continues to Expand Across Fulfillment Operations

The launch comes as 3PLs and ecommerce fulfillment providers continue to invest in automation to increase warehouse throughput without relying exclusively on additional labor or facility expansion.

Parcel diversity is also becoming a larger challenge as fulfillment networks handle everything from traditional cartons to polybags, envelopes and irregular products.

Systems capable of separating those workflows while maintaining high throughput can help operators reduce manual handling and increase the number of destinations that can be supported within a limited warehouse footprint.

For 3PLs handling multiple customers under one roof, that flexibility can be particularly important as SKU profiles and order patterns vary significantly between accounts.

Founded in 2022, Tegene Robots develops intelligent sorting technology for warehouse and logistics operations and operates a 40,000-square-meter smart manufacturing facility.
