Strategic move aims to expand capacity, improve transparency, and strengthen delivery performance
Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation (YMMC) has announced a strategic partnership with DHL Supply Chain to strengthen its internal distribution capabilities. The transition — tentatively set for October 5, 2025 — is designed to boost YMMC’s logistics capacity, accelerate delivery times, and provide greater supply chain visibility without disrupting current service levels.
Seamless Workforce Transition to DHL
As part of the partnership, approximately 175 current YMMC team members will transition to the DHL team while remaining on-site at Yamaha’s Newnan, Georgia facility. These employees will continue their critical roles in supporting day-to-day distribution operations, ensuring a seamless shift in logistics responsibilities.
“This partnership with DHL is a forward-looking step in making our supply chain more agile, efficient, and scalable for future growth,” said Bob Brown, President and CEO of YMMC. “By enhancing our internal logistics capabilities, we're able to focus even more on our core strength — world-class manufacturing and creating Kando for our customers.”
(Kando is a Japanese word that describes the simultaneous feelings of deep satisfaction and intense excitement brought on by something of exceptional value.)
DHL to Drive Agility and Efficiency
The collaboration highlights Yamaha’s commitment to operational excellence. DHL brings global expertise in material handling, inventory management, and distribution, helping YMMC scale efficiently while meeting evolving market demands.
In 2024, YMMC assembled more than 150,000 vehicles for global distribution at its Newnan plant, including Side-by-Sides, ATVs, WaveRunners, and Golf Cars. This new partnership ensures Yamaha’s value chain continues to operate with the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Reinforcing Yamaha’s U.S. Manufacturing Commitment
Yamaha employs more than 2,000 metro Atlanta residents, and the Newnan facility remains a global hub for the brand’s recreational vehicle production. All Yamaha golf cars, Side-by-Sides, and most WaveRunners and ATVs are built in Coweta County, Georgia, reinforcing the company’s role as a major economic driver in the region.
With DHL’s on-site logistics support, Yamaha is well-positioned to create a more responsive, flexible, and scalable supply chain for years to come.
