Lemke Brothers Trucking Inc. was founded in 2009, when brothers Chris and Pete bought four trucks and started hauling milk into Jim Falls. The story starts when their grandfather Don Lemke started hauling milk in 1948. In those days milk hauling was more of a physical job. A milk hauler would have to carry two 100 lb. cans of milk from the milk house to the truck. Don was involved in milk hauling till the day he died. In 1977, Tom Lemke bought his own milk route. Chris and Pete would get to ride along with their dad and help him with various tasks throughout the day. Hooking up the hose was one of their favorite jobs. Tom remains in the trucking business today, transporting cheese products from the Jim Falls area. The brothers have been around milk hauling and trucking all of their lives. They both had there CDL’s and started hauling milk when they turned 18.
