AMA Transportation Company Co Inc. was founded in 1980 by Alfred R. Bruzzese Jr. He had over 25 years in the transportation industry, working his way up from a truck driver to operations management to eventually becoming owner. Although he is no longer with us, he will always be the heart of AMA and dear to all who worked for and with him. His principles and ideals will continue to be the core and basis of operation at AMA, and his spirit will live on forever in our community. Alfred respected the values of hard work, ethics, dedication, responsiveness, and the willingness to satisfy customers through superior service and cooperation. He knew that this would one day lead to a premium service reputation and bond loyal customers to his business. His two truck operation serving Eastern Massachusetts markets was to be the building block for the future of AMA. With the help of his three sons, Mark, Alfred and Anthony, AMA has transformed from a small dream to a premier, top quality LTL carrier in the New England Region. Today, the business Alfred R. Bruzzese Jr. started from scratch is now being run by his sons. His two truck operation has grown to a formidable fleet of over 100 units, providing consistent overnight service to the New England region as well as expanded service to Metro New York and New Jersey. Alfred’s outlook on values and reputation have succeeded expectations. ​ Shippers today have developed operating patterns with their carriers that involve tradeoffs between inventory, warehousing, and transportation costs.
