Look for segmented pick zones, automated or semi-automated picking options, robust WMS with returns workflows, sufficient storage density (racking and bulk), dedicated returns processing areas, and flexible labor agreements for scale-up.

Negotiate clear unit rates for storage and handling, inbound and outbound activity fees, minimums and tiers, SLA penalties, integration and onboarding costs, and regular rate reviews. Insist on transparent reporting and defined KPIs tied to chargebacks.
