Frequently Asked Questions

Prioritize scalable peak capacity, proven seasonal staffing plans, carrier lane coverage for both parcel and LTL, system integrations (WMS/OMS/API), and clear SLAs for order lead times and returns. Also assess climate‑controlled storage and kitting for outdoor apparel or packaged goods.

Expect longer transit windows and weather‑sensitive schedules; use consolidation to reduce costs and select carriers with experience on mountain routes. Where cross‑border shipments occur, leverage bonded transit or preclearance and align pickup schedules to avoid dwell time at major gateways like Calgary.

  • Real‑time inventory visibility via WMS/OMS integration to prevent stockouts and oversells.
  • API or EDI connectivity for order routing, tracking, and carrier rate shopping.
  • Support for returns management, lot/serial tracking, and simple kitting/BOPIS workflows to meet omnichannel SLAs.
  • Expect potentially lower land or lease rates but higher per‑unit transport and labor costs due to limited local labor pools and seasonal demand. Savings on transit time to resort customers can offset higher inbound drayage; model total landed cost including peak surcharge scenarios and inventory carrying impacts.
