Frequently Asked Questions

Assess carrier density (parcel, LTL, intermodal), average transit times to your top markets, account-level negotiated rates, and accessorials. Evaluate WMS/ERP integrations, shipment visibility, SLA enforcement, and historical on-time performance to ensure consistent fulfillment and predictable landed cost.

Prioritize facilities with flexible racking, cross-dock capacity, climate-controlled zones for cold chain, dedicated returns processing, kitting and light assembly, and scalable labor. Confirm service-level agreements for pick accuracy, cut-off times, and peak-season surge management.

Local labor pool depth and wage rates drive hourly fulfillment costs and recruitment timelines. Regions with access to temp labor and training programs reduce hiring risk and allow cost-effective scaling; conversely, tight labor markets increase premiums and may require automation investments.

Direct highway corridors, intermodal rail links, and short-sea feeder options reduce linehaul expense and enable consolidation. High carrier density increases bidding competition for rates, while proximity to parcel and LTL hubs shortens last-mile legs and decreases variability in delivery windows.
