Focus on proximity to main feeder ports and airport cargo terminals, frequency of carrier sailings/air services, and established last-mile parcel network partnerships. Confirm intermodal links for road and rail, and check 3PL contracts for negotiated carrier rates and fuel surcharge pass-through mechanisms.

Require robust WMS with order orchestration, batch and ASN management, multi-SKU pick/pack workflows, configurable packing and labeling, returns processing, and EDI/API connectivity to ERP systems. Consider slots for scheduled bulk replenishment and dedicated space for high-volume SKUs.

Model fixed and variable elements: rack and floor storage rates, labor productivity and shift premiums, inbound/outbound handling fees, minimum monthly charges, SLA penalties, and transportation accessorials. Include inventory carrying cost, expected shrink, and projected volumetric changes to assess true landed fulfillment cost.
