Top 10 3PL Warehouse Companies in: Hoonah

The 2026 Definitive Guide

Selecting a 3PL provider in Hoonah goes beyond finding available floor space — it secures a strategic entry point to Southeast Alaska's coastal logistics network. Brands evaluating partners should prioritize operators with reliable maritime and barge transshipment links, scheduled airlift access to regional airports, and cold-chain facilities sized for seafood, perishables, and seasonal inventory. Emphasis must be placed on WMS and TMS integration, carrier contract management, and cross-dock capabilities that lower dwell time and overall freight cost. Detailed selection criteria include proximity to port berths, availability of bonded space, freezer capacity, and proven last-mile carrier networks.

Connect Logistics

St. Albert, Alberta, Canada

Our Mission is to be the First Choice logistics partner in the adult beverage and cannabis industries. Before 1994, Alberta liquor distribution was handled entirely by the Alberta provincial government through the Alberta Liquor Control Board (ALCB). At this time there were only 204 government owned and operated liquor stores in Alberta. In June 1994, Alberta liquor distribution and retail sales were privatized. Since that time the number of licensed retail outlets in Alberta has grown to over 2000, with over 40,000 unique registered products. Today, Connect Logistics Services continues to provide complete liquor warehousing and distribution services for spirits, wines, liqueurs, coolers and import beer destined for sale in Alberta. Unlike more traditional wholesalers, Connect Logistics Services does not buy or take possession of any product. Instead, Liquor Suppliers and Agents continue to own their product until it is sold. Suppliers and Agents have sole discretion over which products they list and their stock position. They can also allocate their products to specified licensees within the parameters of the AGLC Allocation Policy. Once product is received, Connect Logistics Services processes orders from liquor retail outlets and licensed establishments in the Province of Alberta. These licensees can place orders through phone, fax, or Liquorconnect.com, a dedicated on-line liquor ordering and tracking system. When product is sold, the supplier/agent receives payment directly from the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission. Connect Logistics Services state-of-the art warehouse management system is designed to provide rapid and accurate order processing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Prioritize 3PLs offering integrated WMS/TMS, proven barge and scheduled airlift handling, temperature-controlled storage, bonded or customs-capable space if needed, and strong last-mile carrier partnerships. Also assess EDI/API connectivity, SLA definitions (OTIF, order cycle time), and contingency plans for seasonal and weather-driven disruptions.

Multimodal routing typically increases lead-time variability and requires buffer inventory and consolidated shipments to optimize unit cost. Expect schedule gaps driven by barge/air frequency and weather; plan inventory safety stock, cross-dock windows, and freight consolidation strategies to balance cost versus service level.

Ensure your 3PL has experience with customs manifests, export/import documentation, carrier manifests, and any species- or product-specific permits for seafood or perishables. Confirm temperature-monitoring protocols, traceability, inspection support, and reporting standards to meet buyer, regulatory, and retailer compliance requirements.

Use KPIs such as OTIF, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, average order cycle time, dock-to-delivery transit, claims rate, and cost-per-order. Contract terms should include defined SLAs, dispute resolution, inventory reconciliation cadence, billing transparency, and clauses for seasonal capacity scaling and force‑majeure events.
