Total Distribution Inc.

Columbus, Ohio, United States

Peoples Services, Inc. traces its history to 1914, then operating in Massillon, Ohio as a moving and storage company. In 1947, Raymond Sibila, owner of Sibila Trucking, bought Peoples Cartage and Storage Company. Since then, the Sibila family has owned and operated the company for three generations. Ray also purchased the Mayflower Agency buildings in Massillon while also securing U.S. Mail contracts hauling U.S. mail both inside and outside of Ohio. By 1954, Peoples Cartage had become one of Massillon’s most important businesses and was featured in the Stark County Story in 1959. Ronald Sibila, Raymond’s son, joined the company in 1957 after serving three years as a navigator in the U.S. Air Force. In the late 1960’s Peoples Services branched into public warehousing while continuing to grow and expand the existing businesses. In 1991, Peoples Services, Inc. was formed as the parent company of Peoples Cartage and related companies. Peoples established our corporate headquarters in Canton, Ohio in 1993. In 2001, Douglas Sibila, a third-generation family member, assumed the role of President and Chief Operating Officer. Peoples acquired two more companies in the following years, and Doug was named Chief Executive Officer while Ron Sibila remained Chairman of the Board. Numerous acquisitions in the region followed as Peoples expanded both in physical size and in the variation of services offered. In 2010, Peoples acquired Terminal Warehouse, doubling the size of the company. We purchased Central Warehouse Operations, consisting of two locations in Michigan and one in Dayton, Ohio. Two years later, Style Crest Logistics with eight locations in the Fremont, Ohio area became another important addition. In 2017, Peoples acquired B&M Storage, a facility which offers cold storage in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. 2018 brought another addition and expanded the company’s reach to the southeast US: the Grimes Companies in Jacksonville, Florida, including four locations. In October 2020, we acquired Kandel Cold Storage in Tallmadge, Ohio. In June 2023, we acquired the assets of Presidential Express Warehouse & Trucking located in Bayonne, New Jersey. In February 2024, we acquired the assets of Swafford Trucking, Inc., Swafford Warehousing, Inc. and Swafford Transportation, Inc. based in Greer, Spartanburg and Greenville, South Carolina. In May 2024 we acquired the assets of D+S Distribution, Inc. and Integrated Logistics Services, Inc. headquartered in Wooster, Ohio with 19 locations in Wooster, Orville, Shelby, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. We did a third acquisition in October 2024, expanding our footprint to a ninth state, Georgia with the acquisition of REO Processing and REO Logistics. This acquisition continues the strategy of further diversifying and expanding services offered by TDI and its affiliates. REO Processing and REO Logistics were headquartered in West Virginia with 10 facilities across West Virginia in Parkersburg, Vienna, Huntington, Kenova, Nitro, and Atlanta, Georgia. REO is known for its technical expertise in processing and packaging of plastics and chemicals. TDI operates over 70 warehouse facilities in Michigan, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey and Georgia, mostly as Total Distribution, Inc., providing over twelve million square feet of public and contract warehouse space. We are an asset-based network of companies dedicated to providing third-party logistics services. We specialize in handling commodities that require extra attention to temperature and other factors: from chemicals and plastics to food grade materials and consumer goods. Our services include transloading bulk material from rail to bulk pneumatic tank trucks, drumming, packaging and repackaging services, e-commerce fulfillment, inventory management and transportation. Because we also own our own fleet of trucks, we offer in-house transportation brokerage and management services. As Total Distribution, Inc., a Peoples Services company, we are committed to going beyond logistics for a better solution. With over a century of business experience and excellence, we work with our clients to help solve distribution and supply chain challenges in innovative–and cost-saving–ways.
