Speedy Delivery LLC

Spokane, Washington, United States

IF OUR NAME SOUNDS FAMILIAR, YOU PROBABLY GREW UP WATCHING MISTER ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD… or, our brand is growing (hopefully that last one). Matt Deter started Speedy Delivery LLC (SPEEDY) in 2000 by negotiating a multi-store partnership as a 3PL with the same furniture company that helped put him through college. When it came time to name his company, Matt wanted to find a way to communicate his personal values for how business should be done. “Doing business is too often simply transactional. But business is more than a transaction—it’s about relationships with real people.” Mr. McFeely’s character from this popular kids’ television program represented more than a “speedy” transaction at each visit. Mr. McFeely became a beloved character and friend to Mister Rogers (and all who watched) because of the relationship that developed between them. To Matt, the “Speedy Delivery” catchphrase became a symbol for the ideal way commerce and customer service should coexist—the ideal partnership. SPEEDY strives to build on this ideal and now partners with some of the top names in the retail industry. Our commitment to them is best captured through our mission to provide “Not Just Last Mile—The Extra Mile.” SPEEDY seeks to create a culture that inspires by finding people who take pride in what they do, who are always looking for ways to improve, and who care enough to treat every customer as their very own Mister Rogers.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Spokane-based 3PL offers inland proximity to the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, multimodal connections (highway, rail, regional air), competitive real estate and labor costs, and scalable warehouse footprints. These factors reduce landed cost, support seasonal surges, and provide reliable regional carrier access for both parcel and LTL shipments.

Assess dock door counts and cross-dock capability, racking types, clear height, cold-chain capacity, security, and redundancy. Verify WMS features, API and EDI integrations, inventory controls (cycle counts, FIFO/LIFO support), and reporting cadence. Confirm peak season staffing plans and contingency protocols before contracting.

Expect core fees for storage (per pallet or per cubic foot), receiving and putaway, pick‑and‑pack, outbound handling, and shipping pass‑throughs. Budget for accessorials (demurrage, shrinkwrap, returns processing), minimum monthlys, SLA penalties, insurance requirements, and defined term length with renewal and termination clauses.

Spokane provides competitive transit to inland markets and good rail connectivity to regional hubs; transit to coastal metros like Seattle or Portland is longer than local coastal sites but often lower in landed cost. Use Spokane for regional distribution and cross‑dock flows, while balancing inventory positioning to meet coastal same‑day/next‑day expectations.

Require KPI reporting on order accuracy, fill rate/OTIF, inventory accuracy, dock‑to‑stock times, receiving cycle times, on‑time shipments, claim rates, and labor productivity metrics. Monthly performance reviews with root‑cause action items and transparent invoicing will drive continuous improvement and cost control.
