AW2 Logistics

Muskego, Wisconsin, United States

AW2 Logistics is a division of Ace Worldwide Group of Companies, with company-owned facilities in 8 strategic domestic markets and access to 400 + additional distribution/last mile points across the U.S. Our largest distribution facility is located in the Midwest, with direct access to Milwaukee, Chicago, Madison and Green Bay one of the key healthcare markets in the nation. AW2 offers a third-party logistic service (3PL) that allows you to outsource operational logistics from warehousing, all the way through to delivery, and ultimately enables you to focus on other parts of your business. We provide a one-stop range of services that directly address the logistics and challenges of the 21st Century Supply Chain. This includes Transportation, Warehousing, Picking and Packing, Inventory Forecasting, Order Fulfillment, Ecommerce Fulfillment, Crating & Packaging and Freight Forwarding. The story begins in Rochester, Minnesota when John U. Steiner purchased a 1946 Ford truck. The truck was first used to haul corn to the Twin Cities and apples from Bayfield, Wisconsin to Rochester. From the start, the Milwaukee operation provided storage as well as hauling services. To meet the growing demand, a warehouse and office building was constructed, and by 1956, our operational headquarters were moved from Rochester to its current Milwaukee site. Operations continued to grow throughout the 1970's and 1980's. To serve the distribution needs of specific customers, new offices were opened around the country. At each location, the full range of our services was offered to the local market, broadening the customer base served by the companies. The 1990’s saw a period of wide spread business growth and Ace Worldwide had to take a more strategic approach to developing a value added, logistics service to our client base. The challenge of the dot-com downtown, in the 00’s, resulted in a leaner more focused service offering and coincided with the current generation of the Steiner family taking leadership roles. By 2010 logistics had matured into a solid service offering comprising of Warehousing, Distribution, Crating & Packaging and Transportation. It was time to give this capability it’s own brand and AW2 Logistics came into being. AW2 Logistics is now recognized as an innovative player in the field servicing a wide range of industries such as Healthcare, Hospitality, Ecommerce, Retail, Manufacturing and Freight Forwarding. What are the key elements of our success over the years? A commitment to continuous improvement, a desire to learn and a willingness to listen. Frequently Asked Questions

Prioritize throughput (lines and orders per hour), picking accuracy, inventory accuracy, on-time shipments, returns processing, and surge capacity. Confirm WMS integrations (EDI/API), slotting, kitting, lot/serial tracking, and SLA remedies. Match provider KPIs to SKU velocity and peak demand forecasts.

Waukesha's proximity to major interstates and metro hubs shortens transit lanes into the Midwest, often reducing parcel zone progression and LTL mileage. That enables more favorable carrier rates, faster transit promises, and better access to regional carrier hubs for next-day or two-day service to large population centers.

Expect line-item fees: receiving, storage (per pallet/cubic), pick/pack, kitting, returns processing, and monthly minimums. Negotiate performance-based SLAs, tiered pricing for volume growth, transparent accessorials, and limited-term pilot periods with defined KPIs and service credits to align incentives.

Run a total landed-cost model comparing rent, labor, transit days, and carrier charges. Consider inventory segmentation (fast movers near customers; slow movers centralized), dual-node strategies, and scenario modeling for peak periods. Choose the configuration that minimizes overall cost-to-serve while meeting delivery SLAs.
