Through its FRANCEGEL establishment, NORFRIGO operates the largest ice plant in France, which with a production capacity of 40,000 tonnes of flake ice, serves the entire fishing industry of the port of Boulogne sur mer: fishing fleets with direct delivery to boats, fish wholesalers, retailers, large distribution (GMS), fishmongers, transporters. Moreover, for many years, thanks to its strategic location in the heart of the port area and its proximity to many carriers, FRANCEGEL has been delivering 20-kilo bags of ice daily to many major retail chains. Stored at a negative temperature, these bags of ice can easily be kept for 48 to 72 hours. The flake ice produced by FRANCEGEL is also used for alternative purposes such as cooling for industrial bakeries or pharmaceutical companies, the installation of ski or toboggan runs, as well as providing additional ice at other sites such as Rungis.
