Since 1918, and starting with Francis J. Kane, the Kane Family has been actively involved in trucking, warehousing, office moving, limousine/bus services, commercial real estate, and interior commercial construction. After working 12 years at the Kane Transfer Co., a young Eugene I. Kane (“E.I.”), Francis’ nephew and COO, decided to venture out on his own and started the E.I. Kane Company in 1969. E.I.’s business expanded into office moving and limousine/charter bus services and grew to $60MM in revenues. E.I. mentored his son, Richard, in the logistics space and envisioned significant growth in the ground transportation division. Richard transferred from the trucking divisions to the family owned limousine and charter bus service located in Washingtom, DC to implement a sales strategy and manage the growth.
