In 1840 our founder, Israel Mason, started a small produce stand in Providence, Rhode Island and grew his business into a cold storage warehouse operation. This warehouse was an early leader in the industry and laid the foundation for the expertise and standards, both internationally and domestically, for which this company is well known. In 1964 the original cold storage company relocated part of the operation to New Bedford, Massachusetts. At that time Maritime entered the break-bulk reefer cargo market. Under new ownership in 1992, the company took an aggressive and positive direction in upgrading all of its facilities. We are a full service company providing the highest level of service to our customers, as well as, offering transportation services, warehousing, truck brokering, vessel chartering, ship agency, freight forwarding and stevedoring.
