Teal's Express was a family owned LTL carrier serving the northeastern US, with headquarters in Watertown NY. At its peak it operated 9 terminals in 4 states. The decision was made to close in August 2022. Here is the company story. Shortly after the Civil War ended, John Teal (great great grandfather of the last owners) and his son Nicholas began to operate a freight and passenger service in the sparsely populated Adirondack Region of New York State. Although they met with early success, Nicholas' keen sense of business trading could not compensate for his lack of ability to read and write, and that issue forced him into an early bankruptcy, a choice he had little direction over.
