Model total landed cost including inbound freight, inventory carrying days, and outbound zone-based parcel/freight rates. Run scenario analysis for zone skipping, average transit time reductions, and cost-per-order changes. Include service penalties, inventory safety stock, and seasonal volume sensitivity.

Confirm local parcel and LTL carrier presence, number of dock doors, cross-dock capabilities, sortation and staging areas, and last‑mile partner agreements. Also validate reverse logistics workflows, parcel manifesting systems, and SLA escalation processes for exceptions.

Require real-time inventory APIs, order management and routing integrations, EDI/API for carriers, and robust WMS features (wave planning, lot/BIN control). Insist on integration testing, performance benchmarks, data reconciliation routines, and transparent reporting for demand spikes and promotions.
