Compare base storage rates, handling and pick/pack fees, inbound receiving charges, minimums, peak-season surcharges and value-added services like kitting or returns. Model scenarios for average order size, SKU velocity and peak-volume weeks to select the provider that minimizes landed cost while meeting SLA targets.

Focus on order accuracy, OTIF, average pick rates, dock door count, clear height, racking configuration, temperature control capability, security measures and safety record. Confirm WMS functionality, reporting cadence and capacity for seasonal scale-ups during the site visit.

Slovenia is in the EU and Schengen, so intra-EU shipments face no customs clearance, but VAT rules and invoicing obligations still apply. For non-EU destinations, ensure the 3PL supports export documentation, customs declarations and authorized economic operator (AEO) processes to avoid clearance delays and additional costs.
