Halcion Express is a second generation, solidly established haulier in the UK & International distribution industry, constantly evolving with our customers and the markets to accommodate the changing demands of manufacturing, wholesale/import & retail sectors As a service provider, we see ourselves as a true Partner and extension of our Clients’ businesses. From the humble beginnings of one Foden tractor and tipper trailer in the early 70’s, Halcion was previously known as ‘LitCor’; and then in 1979, Halcion Haulage was formed, collecting and delivering bulk loads of raw materials such as coke, coal, sand, magnetite and grain, nationwide, which lasted into the mid 90’s when the economy changed and Halcion Express established itself on the good reputation and recognised brand of the Halcion Kingfisher. Today, Halcion Express delivers and collects up to 450 pallets of finished goods per day, covering Cheshire (including Crewe, Middlewich, Winsford, Northwich, Sandbach, Holmes Chapel, Knutsford, Altrincham & Congleton) and North Staffordshire, for onward express delivery throughout the UK, Ireland, across Europe and Scandanavia, as part of a National and European network partnership of 125 depots within ‘The Pallet Network‘, of which we have been proud members for more than 10 years; it is one of the largest UK pallet networks, handling circa 19,000 pallets per night through its three strategically placed UK hubs. We also provide dedicated contract vehicles to the automotive and manufacturing sectors, as well as complete supply chain operations from China container receipt and secure storage, through to complex fulfilment solutions into the biggest UK retailers, such as Amazon, ASDA, TK Maxx, Iceland, Lidl, John Lewis, Wilko, Dunelm and Lakeland. Modern trends now dictate that in addition to the explosion of internet shopping and home delivery volumes, retailers no longer have the luxury of stockpiling, which means that the ‘just-in-time’ philosophy for the 1-10 pallet consignment is now more than ever at the forefront of logistics. From our centrally based and modern headquarters just off the M6/J16 in Staffordshire, Halcion services clients throughout the UK and beyond.
